IsraelTom Oren | Erez Todres

When a young pianist of explosive talent receives an open invitation to a duet with a turntable wizard – he rises to the challenge.
Tom Oren, one of Jazz’s most prominent young voices, has already managed to win the prestigious Thelonious Monk Competition, perform in festivals all over the world, and even record his debut album with renowned label Concord Records.
Erez Todres (The Apples, Crunch22) the vinyl man, founder and manager of Todres Records, uses turntables as musical instruments proper, and has a deep passion for collaborating with conventional instruments. One thing we know about him is that he dreams in samples when he sleeps at night.
This original festival production consists of a unique encounter between two musicians that have fantasy flowing through their veins, and hold the freedom of improvisation in their hands. For them this is a trip to planet Mars, a cruise on an orange sea, and a long drop down into the rabbit hole. On our side, we can expect a musical translation of an exciting new performance, created by this special duo.
