Heavy Metals

Sound Installation of the Artistic Research Program at Musrara
© 2024 Richard Serra / Artists Rights Society (ARS), New York

Created in the framework of the Artistic Research Program at Musrara Multi disciplinary School of Art and Society, the “Heavy Metals” sound installation at the RIchard Serra “Circuit”  invites visitors to a mesmerizing spatial-sculptural sound experience.   By using transducers attached to each of the four steel plates, Serra’s sculpture becomes a resonating body that amplifies the acoustic properties of the steel and reveals hidden harmonies within it.

Follow the daily schedule for two live electronic and acoustic performances that will further manipulate the installation and resonate the steel plates.

The Artistic Research Program annual program is a continuing academic program designed for artists interested in further developing the theory and practice of their artistic language.

Wednesdays and Thursdays:
Sound installation – 18:30-23:00
Live session – 19:15-19:30 / 21:45-22:00
