On the Old Bridge" (Al HaGesher HaYashan) – Remembering Tzruya Lahav | special guest: David Broza״

heartIsrael An intimate and deeply personal tribute by Yonatan Albalak

An original performance dedicated to the work and memory of the poet and songwriter Tzruya Lahav, one of the most significant and beloved voices in the Israeli soundtrack, marking two months since her passing.

Tzruya was an Israeli author, lyricist, poet, musician, actress, and singer, and a recipient of the ACUM Lifetime Achievement Award for Hebrew Song. Her songs were composed and performed by Israel’s leading musicians, including Rami Kleinstein, Rita, Yehudit Ravitz, Meir Banai, David Broza, Gidi Gov, Riki Gal, Yehuda Poliker, and others.

This special and personal tribute was created specifically for the Jerusalem Jazz Festival by Tzruya’s family. At its heart is an All-Stars ensemble under the artistic direction of her son, musician Yonatan Albalak. The show presents songs that have become inseparable parts of Israeli culture, such as “Yemei HaTom,” “Derech HaMeshi,” “Romeo,” “Al HaGesher HaYashan,” and “Perach”, reinterpreted through raw, minimalist, and atmospheric arrangements that emphasize the power and depth of her lyrics. Her son, actor Yosef Albalak, will also perform readings of her texts.

Joining the performance is special guest David Broza, a close friend of Tzruya’s, who in 2018 released the beautiful and intimate album The Golden Ring (Taba’at HaZahav), featuring lyrics written entirely by her.

This is a performance of farewell and love, an intimate, family-led event designed to illuminate the beauty Tzruya Lahav left behind through her family, friends, and above all, her music, words and songs.
