Ron Magril is one of the most prominent guitarists and composers in the Israeli jazz scene, possessing a strong and clear sound and tone that draw inspiration from the Soul Jazz and Hard-bop eras of the fifties and sixties. His music and playing seek to recreate the atmosphere and sound of that period, while simultaneously integrating modern ideas and contemporary sounds in an artistic meeting between old and new. He performs throughout the world, among others with the ensemble Sugarman 3, and his albums have won much praise and international recognition.
Ron arrives at the festival with his excellent trio: Yonatan Riklis, a pianist, Hammond player, and soundtrack composer. He performs regularly with international artists such as Eli Degibri, British jazz singer Emma Smith, Amit Friedman, and many others. And Yonatan Rosen, a versatile drummer who performs on stages across the world with artists such as Emma Smith, Cyrille Aimée, Chuck Israels, Eddie Henderson, Joe Magnarelli, Yuval Cohen, David Broza, Assaf Amdursky, Jane Bordeaux, Ester Rada, Alon Eder, and even with the Jerusalem Symphony, Opera, and Israel Philharmonic orchestras.
