Red Axes are an electronic music duo based on techno and house with many diverse influences, including disco, new wave, garage rock, post-punk, psychedelic rock, and trance. The duo DJs and performs on numerous international stages, including Burning Man, Glastonbury, and Coachella festivals, as well as the Berghain club, and is considered one of the most successful Israeli acts in the field of electronic music.
They arrive at the Jazz Festival with a special tribute performance to Miles Davis, one of the most influential and revolutionary musicians of the 20th century, who repeatedly broke the boundaries of jazz and deeply influenced the worlds of electronic music, techno, and psychedelia. In this new show, Red Axes take Davis’s free, experimental, and unpredictable spirit into a contemporary and dynamic space, creating an interpretation that meets at the intersection of electronic music and live performance.
Alongside Red Axes members Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi, three live musicians will take the stage: Sefi Zisling on trumpet, Aviv Cohen on drums, and Tomer Zuk on keyboards. Together they create a different kind of musical experience, open and full of movement, connecting the past to the future, and the improvisation and freedom of Miles Davis to the unique electronic language of Red Axes. The result is a jazz performance with a psychedelic sound, blending groove, improvisation, electronic textures, touches of rock and techno, and an electrifying stage energy.
