Yemen Blues

There are individuals, there are truly unique talents, and then there is Ravid Kahalani, The founder and beating heart of Yemen Blues. The group has it’s four members spread across continents, with roots that span cultures. This global patchwork manifests in their singularly exhilarating polyglot mélange of Bedouin folk, funk, blues, avant-garde, Arabian classical, fuzzed-out rock, psych and jazz. 

Ravid and Yemen Blues take the desert vibe into the 21st century, creating new truths, and fresh traditions in the process. A soulful performance in the most honest and literal sense, with a spiritual approach to music-making that encompasses every aspect, every feeling of the human heart. 

They are coming to the Jerusalem Jazz Festival to bring us a shamanistic quality, with Ravid as a frontman who’s role is to engage, to carouse, to provoke, while underneath it all lies a desire to break through to people.
