Tzaneret Full Set

Israel

The Tzaneret group, the commando of the Israeli groove scene, is preparing a party you won’t ever want to stop. The members of the coolest ensemble in the field, led by multi-saxophonist Elad Gellert, turn any place with an audience into a bubbling music stage. At the festival, they’ll take you on a jazzed-up musical journey through the numerous galleries of The Israel Museum.

The three members of Tzaneret, separately partners in the Hoodna Orchestra, Marsh Dondurma and Bint El Funk, specialize in bringing folk joys onto city streets. They have fun taking music off the stage and into the natural routine flow of life.

So, what’s in the pipeline? Every day, the ensemble’s three members – Gellert, the saxophonist in chief, Yoram Linker second in command on baritone sax, and Raz Eitan manning an alternative drum battery – will host new musicians to take turns in bouncy instrumental groove sessions. Two large baritone saxophones, a drummer whose riffs go through the roof and friends coming to make merry with original jazz that’s free, uninhibited and boundary expanding, diving into rich harmonies and imaginative improvisation. Refreshing like coffee followed by a soda.
