Brazil Ensemble

The Brazil Ensemble operates within the Academy’s new Department for Multidisciplinary Performance under the direction of Roy Ben-Sira. The ensemble’s learning process follows the format of a traditional Brazilian choro circle — taught entirely by ear, without the use of sheet music. In addition to choro pieces, the ensemble also performs classics of Brazilian popular music, including samba, forró, bossa nova, and more.
