Albert Beger Cosmos Ensambel

Avant-garde jazz saxophonist Albert Beger returns to the festival with the Cosmos Ensemble, presenting contemporary experimental jazz, psychedelic electronica, free improvisation, and traditional ethnic music.

A unique creator with phenomenal control of the saxophone, Albert Beger has released 16 albums of original music, showcasing a unique gift for improvisation and an ever evolving personal language, serving as a source of inspiration for generations of musicians and composers in Israel.
In addition to being an active musician, performing and recording continuously since the early 1990s, Beger is also a respected lecturer and teacher, who initiated, among other things, the contemporary improvisation track at the Jerusalem Academy of Music.

The Cosmos Ensemble brings together three of Israel’s most exciting contemporary jazz musicians. Trumpet player Roy Zuzovsky, bassist and gimbri player Shay Hazan himself a prolific composer and producer, and drummer Amir Bar Akiva, each contribute to the band’s unique sound in their own way, blending the groove of jazz and the beat of Moroccan Gnawa music.
