GRIDI & Coolooloosh
In this extraordinary show, legendary Jerusalemite band Coolooloosh returns to the stage, inviting the audience to take part in the show with GRIDI and create music by placing balls in divots.
Drawing inspiration from Damien Hirst’s famous spot paintings, GRIDI is a giant sequencer designed by musician Yuvi Gerstein to encourage musical collaborations.
After numerous international festivals and millions of views on social media, GRIDI returns to Jerusalem to host its parents – the band Coolooloosh, where Gerstein is a guitarist and singer.
The band brought the worlds of Hip-Hop, Funk, New Soul, and Jazz to the Israeli music scene, merging them into a groovy Mediterranean concoction. The band, which started out a decade ago on the streets of Jerusalem, returns to the stage at the festival after a five-year break.
Gridi & Coolooloosh will visit the festival for two shows with two different ensembles:
A performance with the entire 6-man band, combining GRIDI’s beats and harmony with Coolooloosh’ groove. In a 360-degree show, GRIDI and Coolooloosh create an interactive experience of sound and visuals, inviting the audience to take part in the show.
The band is Ori Winokur (bass), Rebel Sun (rap), Yuvi Gerstein (guitar & singing), Ongy Sizling (sax), Yogev Shetrit (drums), and Omer Luz (keyboards and DJ).
The other show – GRIDI & Coolooloosh Trio
